New name and look for Formby Hall restaurant. Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa’s new look restaurant, The Fairway Grill, has launched its summer menu featuring the finest quality chargrilled steaks … and a homage to the town’s most famous food export.

Diners at the restaurant, which has been revamped as part of a multi-million pound investment, can enjoy a selection of prime steaks served from its grill as part of its modern British menu.

And they can sample Formby’s world renowned asparagus, either on the side, or as the main attraction in a starter of asparagus and wild mushroom tart.

The new Fairway Grill menu has been created by Formby Hall’s Head Chef, Tony Hargreaves, who has drawn on 20 years’ experience as a chef to put together dishes which focus on seasonal ingredients, simply prepared and rich in flavour.

He was keen to use only carefully sourced ingredients, often hand-picked from local suppliers, giving diners an opportunity to get to know Formby through its produce.

“People are much more knowledgeable about food and ingredients these days, because of the number of cookery programmes on TV, so we felt they’d appreciate the chance to have something which originates from the area.

“Formby has a long tradition of producing asparagus and it is so celebrated all over the world, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to highlight its fantastic just-picked taste.”

Alongside a speciality grill menu, with steaks ranging from a rump heart steak to a 227g fillet, lamb or pork cutlets and farm assured chicken breast, The Fairway Grill also features a range of homemade burgers including spicy five bean and skinny no-bun version.

With an emphasis on classic favourites, there are English lamb, pork, poultry, game and fish dishes, as well as vegetarian, pasta and salad options.

“Being a resort means we have a wide variety of guests who come to our restaurant, often after a day on the golf course, or a spa day, so it’s important that our menu is as diverse as our customers,” says Tony.
