International Nurses Day

Today on International Nurses Day, nurses from West Lancashire and Sefton are being recognized for all their hard work and effort.

The global annual event which falls on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth is being celebrated by nurses from hospitals, primary care, community as well as home care settings for all their dedication and hard work.

This week, Formby CCG have been sharing their stories through social media by using the hashtag #nurseheroes.

Celebrations for the global event begin today at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital sites. The Southport event will be held in the spinal gym at Southport Hospital and the restaurant at Ormskirk Hospital from 11am until 3pm. Both events are open to all student and qualified nurses (on the production of ID) from all primary, community and home care settings.
