Police hunting for Formby man Jamie Talbot as part of drugs investigation

Merseyside police would like to speak to Jamie Talbot, 30, from Formby, in connection with a Class A drug supply investigation after another man was jailed for dealing cocaine.

Merseyside Police today (Friday, 5 May 2017) welcomed the sentencing of Carl Morgan at Liverpool Crown Court today to four years, six months for supply of cocaine.

Carl Richard Morgan, 31, of Lisburn Lane, Liverpool was arrested as part of an investigation into the large-scale supply of Class A drugs.

Morgan was charged on 19 October last year and was convicted after a trial yesterday.

He had used his flat to mix drugs and package them for sale on the streets.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy O'Connor said: "Today is the culmination of a 12-month investigation into a large scale drugs supply operation.

"Morgan and others have blighted our communities, profiting heavily from the sales of drugs.

"Drugs cause untold damage to the lives of both the people who get addicted to them and the wider community who suffer from the resulting crime. Meanwhile the criminals who control this trade sit in the background and profit handsomely from the misery of others, living in nice apartments, driving flash cars, wearing expensive jewellery and designer clothes.

"The police will not stand by and let this happen. I am sure the public who work hard and earn an honest living must resent seeing the drug dealers who enjoy the trappings of an affluent lifestyle without having earned a penny. We would encourage members of the public who see anyone living apparently beyond their means to contact us.

"We will be relentless in taking out such criminals and dismantling their entire network of associates so that they cannot profit from drug dealing again, and work with law enforcement partners such as the National Crime Agency to go after organised crime groups who think they can operate under the radar.

"Merseyside Police is committed to targeting those who are involved in serious and organised crime. The clear message today is that if you are involved in the supply of illegal drugs, you will be arrested and put before the courts.

"I hope this sentence serves as a deterrent to anyone thinking of becoming involved in the supply of drugs."

Jamie Talbot Detectives investigating the case are appealing for information about the whereabouts of 30-year-old Jamie Talbot. Officers wish to speak with Jamie in relation to the investigation into supply of Class A drugs.

Detectives would urge Jamie, from Formby, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
