Merseyside Police Formby found a huge knife near a children's playground
Merseyside Police Formby said: "Out on patrol we found this knife hidden near a children's playground."
Operation Septre is a national operation and Merseyside Police Formby are assisting and do this work on a daily basis.
They said: "Our officers are briefed and will be out making sure that dangerous weapons aren't being dumped or hidden in public places."
Possession of a knife can carry a prison sentence of up to 4 years, even if it's not used.

Wasn't going to use it - 4years
There's no excuse.
"Did you know? We do operations to make sure shops aren't selling knives to under 18's using our volunteers. It is illegal to sell a knife to anyone under the age of 18. Sellers should always verify the age of the purchaser before sale."
"Following today's operations, these knives were bought from shops. Don't be fooled and check for ID!"
