Man charged with Fraud on 84-year-old Formby woman
Merseyside Police can confirm two men have been charged with fraud offences following two incidents. One in Formby and the other in Wirral in January 2017.
This follows an incident on 9 January when an 84-year-old woman was defrauded of £3,200 in Formby, and a further incident on 5th January in which a 75-year-old woman was defrauded of £3,500 in Claughton, Wirral.
Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Christopher Smith, aged 48 years of no fixed abode was charged with fraud by false representation x 2 and with making a false statement to an insurance company and Andrew Lovell, aged 41 years of Coppice Green, Elton, Chester has been charged with fraud by false representation x 2." Both men appeared at Wirral Magistrates this morning (Wednesday, 15 March) and have been remanded to appear on 12th April 2017.
