A 42 year old man sadly died at Fishermans Path after being hit by a train
It has now been confirmed that it was a 42-year-old man that has sadly died after he was struck by a train at Fisherman’s Path crossing in Formby.
A spokesperson from BTP said: "Officers from British Transport Police were called to the scene yesterday afternoon at approximately 4.45pm and attended alongside colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service." "This incident is not being treated as suspicious and his family have been informed. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
There were suggestions that it was a boy on a bike after passengers on the train said that the person it struck may have been a boy on a bike. British Transport Police said: "The person struck by the train was 'pronounced dead the scene'."
Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends after this tragic incident.
