Building has already started for 7 flats on Cable Street

Building work is well underway to erect 7 self-contained apartments on the site of the former Formby Garden Centre at the corner of Cable Street and Church Road.

Approval was granted for the development with conditions last year after the original application was withdrawn in February. The original proposal was for a part three and part four storey block.

A mix of uses exists in the surrounding locality including a fire station to the north, commercial premises to the east and a mix of residential and commercial to the south and

west. The application site is situated in an area designated as residential on the Council’s

Adopted Unitary Development Plan.

The development is a part two and a half and part three storey block containing 7 self-contained apartments with with associated access, parking and landscaping.
