Merseyside Police appeal for witnesses following attempted burglary at Formby Tennis Club
Merseyside Police are now appealing for the public's help to find three men who were spotted "running away" after an attempted burglary at Formby Tennis Club on 29th December at approximately 9pm.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We received the report at around 9pm on Thursday, December 29 that entry had been forced to the Tennis club on Lonsdale Road and we are now appealing for the public's help." "Three male offenders were reported as running away in the direction of the church. Inquiries are ongoing and house to house inquiries will be carried out. CCTV opportunities are also being explored."
Merseyside Police have now confirmed that fortunately, nothing was taken during the incident.
The Police helicopter was also called out to the incident in Formby.
A spokesman from NPAS Hawarden said: "We lifted to assist Merseyside Police with search for suspects following report of a burglary. Areas are now cleared."
Merseyside Police were in Formby after an incident of burglary and were searching for the culprits. Police and Police dogs were searching the Formby pool area as well.
An eye witness told Formby Bubble: "I was in the village and saw two young lads dressed in black and running away from an attempted burglary on Lonsdale Road direction. I then seen them running for the train."
She went on to say: "We have been burgled before around Harington Road area and it's awful. People need to be made aware what is going on."
Another eye witness said that Police with Police dogs were also searching the Formby pool area.
