Police helicopter over Formby to assist with search for suspects following a burglary

At approximately 9:30pm tonight, Thursday 29th December, the Police helicopter was called out to an incident in Formby.

A spokesman from NPAS Hawarden said: "Lifted to assist Merseyside Police with search for suspects following report of a burglary. Areas are now cleared."

Merseyside Police were in Formby after an incident of burglary and were searching for the culprits. Police and Police dogs were searching the Formby pool area as well.

An eye witness said: "I was in the village and saw two young lads dressed in black and running away from an attempted burglary on Rosemary Lane/Lonsdale Road direction. I then seen them running for the train."

She went on to say: "We have been burgled before around Harington Road area and it's awful. People need to be made aware what is going on."
