Firefighter injured in a car fire in Ince Blundell
A car caught fire in Ince Blundell and fire crews were called to the scene at 9pm last night, Thursday 23rd December. During the incident, a firefighter sustained an injury to his leg.
A spokesman from Merseyside fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters attended an incident involving a car fire on Park Wall Road in Ince Blundell, Sefton. Crews from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service were alerted at 9.01pm and were on scene at 9.09pm." He went on to say: "One fire engine attended the incident, and firefighters extinguished the fire. During the operation a firefighter sustained an injury to his left leg. He was taken to hospital where he is currently being assessed." The cause of the car fire is not believed to be suspicious at this stage. Further updates to follow in due course.
