Merseyrail are running late trains to Formby for festive period

Late trains will run to Formby this Christmas period...

Merseyrail’s Christmas late night trains are back for the festive period!

Trains are running forChristmas, making getting home from Liverpool city centre really easy. The late night train fare will be £3. If you have purchased a return or day saver ticket it will be valid on the late trains even though the journey times are in the early hours of the following day. Valid Railpass, Trio and Saveaway tickets and concessionary passess will be accepted.

Two trains will run on the following nights:

Friday 16th December
Saturday 17th December
Friday 23rd December

The last Northern Line train will depart Liverpool Central at 00:30am and arrive at Southport at 1:04am. The train will only stop at:

Liverpool Central
Waterloo
Formby
Southport

The train will not stop at any other stations on this line. Passengers will only be allowed to board services at Liverpool Central. This is a drop off service only.

If you have purchased a return or day saver ticket it will be valid on the late trains even though the journey times are in the early hours of the following day. You can also use a Railpass or Trio for journeys on the late night trains, but Saveways will not be valid.

Anyone without a ticket can purchase one for £3 from Liverpool Central on the night.

Trains are also running on Boxing Day for the first time ever between approximately 9am - 6.30pm.
