A 13-year-old boy in a collision with a van in Formby on Halloween

Merseyside Police had to close the road yesterday, Monday 31st October, between the Bay Horse Pub on Church Road and the Police station, due to a road traffic collision. Cars queued patiently to get out of the Waitrose car park as blue lights dominated the scene.

Merseyside Police can confirm that there was an RTC involving a cyclist and a van in Formby yesterday afternoon, Monday 31 October.

At around 4.00pm, a report was received of a collision between a 13-year-old boy riding a bicycle and a Transit van on Church Road. The boy was taken to hospital with an ankle injury.

His condition is not known at this time but, we do hope he is alright and send our best wishes to him and his family. Not a nice way to spend Halloween.

Anyone with information on this incident can call MSOC Roads Policing Officers on 0151 777 5747. Alternatively, call the 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
