Canton RFC Male Voice Choir return to Holy Trinity Church this month with a concert
A Welsh choir who helped raise funds for the recent alterations at Holy Trinity Church are coming back to see the results of the work – and to give another concert.
Canton RFC Male Voice Choir is a group of ex-rugby players who wanted to carry on singing when they could no longer play rugby, and they tour the country helping organisations to raise money for good causes. Three years ago they gave a concert at Holy Trinity to help with the financing of the church re-ordering. Since then the building works have been completed and the choir will sing again in the “new” church on Thursday, 15th September, at 7.30 pm.
The choir is one of the best known in south Wales and under their musical director Monica Roblin they have sung at venues as prestigious as the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff’s Brangwyn Hall.
The choir’s repertoire is wide-ranging and includes traditional Welsh hymns, opera, pop music and songs from the musicals. Additional music will be provided by local pianist David Pearson.
Tickets are priced at £5 and are available from Holy Trinity Church office (01704 878913) or at the door.
