Two great "Grateful Fred Cafe' Sessions" coming up

There are two great "Grateful Fred Cafe' Sessions" held at Cafe D'Art coming up soon:

The first is Monday 25th of July when we have from Nashville, USA "10 String Symphony".

Nashville duo 10 String Symphony began as a partnership of mutual admiration­­ a much needed creative release valve for Rachel Baiman and Christian Sedelmyer, two 5­string fiddle players and veteran sidemen of Nashville’s music scene. Rachel, a former Illinois state fiddle champion in the old time tradition, needed an outlet for the new sort of songs she was writing, while Christian, originally a classically trained violinist, now a current touring member of the Jerry Douglas Band, was looking to get in touch the impetuous spirit of the rock bands he played in before his arrival in Nashville. With the love of the 5­string fiddle and its musical possibilities as its focal point, the band’s mission statement was as clear as it was expansive: Two fiddles. Two Voices. Epic music.

Opening the show will be Austin, Texas-based "Chuck Hawthorne". “Chuck Hawthorne”, who’s album was described as one of the best of 2015 by The Daily Telegraph, developed his voice as a songwriter riding the Texas plains with his cowboy heroes Clifton Lowe and Alvin Hamrick, sailing the Adriatic sea and picking guitar aboard the USS Iwo Jima, writing Post 2 Gate in the basement of a Baghdad palace, and while experiencing the stories of the people he came to know in his hometown, his numerous deployments, and points in between. The second show is on Monday 15th August.

It features "Brigid Mae Power" whose debut album on legendary San Francisco record label, Tompkins Square Records, was just voted Album Of the Week by The Observer and The Guardian.

Brigid's amazing voice has been compared to Tim Buckley's and Jeff Buckley's and her album features some of the most haunting music you will hear.

This is the chance to hear one of the most amazing voices out there here in Formby before she continues her world tour.
