Extension to Burbo Bank wind farm is responsible for early morning noise

We can now confirm that the penetrating, loud, thud noises that everyone heard from 4:30am this morning was in fact the commencement of the wind farm extension at Burbo Bank.
Members of the public contacted the Bubble worried that it was the seismic survey that was causing the noise.
The Council and Environmental health have also received complaints about the noise, and have visited the sites identified by Aurora, and have confirmed that there is no activity or signs of activity at any of these this morning.
Environmental Health have advised that any complaints about noise/statutory nuisance should be made as per the normal route, via the contact centre, so that the complaints can be recorded, monitored and investigated.
In relation to the seismic surveys, the company will be undertaking a letter drop and local newspaper advert, with full details of their head office and local field office. This is part of their customer management, so nothing that the Council has any control over. This should give the community the appropriate contacts should there be any queries, complaints or issues.
Once the seismic survey commences, it will only run from 7:30am to 6pm.
The noise is caused by the pile driving into the bedrock in the sea.
