Important Safeguarding Alert

Dear Parent

Unfortunately I find myself in the position of reporting yet another incident where a male member of the public has exposed himself to some of our Sixth Form students.

The most recent incident occurred at lunchtime today on Freshfield Road, towards Freshfield Station, at approximately 11:45am.

The incident has been reported to the Police and we are are working closely with them to ensure our students are educated on how best to keep safe whilst out of the school environment.

Please take time to share with your child the guidance outlined below:

Where possible children to remain in groups of two or more and keep to main, well lit roads and pathways when walking to and from School.

If approached by a stranger, never divulge any personal information, this includes times and places that you may frequent or names of friends who you are going to meet.

If approached by a stranger, make contact with the nearest point of safety; this could be a shop, a school crossing patrol, a parent or indeed the school itself.

If approached by a stranger please inform the Police as soon as possible, this will allow for an increased chance of locating the person who may still be in the area.

Use your mobile phone to contact home, school or the Police.

Dial 999 and it will be dealt with as an emergency.

If necessary, return to school.

We also encourage the students to speak with their form tutor, Climate for Learning Leader, a member of the Pastoral Team or myself should they have any concerns.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Mrs K Blanchard Assistant Headteacher(Teaching and Learning) / Designated Safeguarding Lead
