FRANK'S REPORT 26/10/15 - 26 October, 2015

There were very few Formby Junior Sports Club Representative team matches played during the first half term weekend. With many children away on holiday all Inter Club fixtures were also cancelled. FJSC Under 14’s moved into third place in the league following a convincing win over Ormskirk West End. Owen Highton scored four, Pedro Gomes three, Elliot Taylor two and Conor Dewhurst and Max Sumner added one goal each to the total. FJSC Under 13 Whites lost 4-1 to Redgate Rovers Whites. Sam Kendrick scored and man of the match was Matthew Grand. The Under 13 Girls lost 2 nil away at Lostock Hall. Josie McIver was the player of the match. There were good performances from Naomi Harrison, Lily Hamilton and Rebecca Cain. FJSC Under 14 Girls narrowly lost 3-2 to third in the division Blackpool Girls. FJSC Under 16 Girls’ played away at Blackpool and gained an impressive 3-1 win. Caitlin MacBeth gave FJSC the lead but Blackpool rallied and quickly equalised. On the stroke of half time the Under 16’s restored the lead when Rebecca C. followed up to score after a scorching shot from Alivia Hutchinson had been parried by the very impressive Blackpool goalkeeper. The half time whistle was immediately blown. In the second half girl of the match Caitlin MacBeth made sure of the three points after scoring her second goal of the match. It was another very good team effort. The result takes the Under 16’s into second place in the league. The Under 11 Blacks enjoyed a break from league football by arranging a friendly with S. and B. Rangers. Dan King, Callum Davidson from another free kick and Ewan Davies scored in a drawn match. Frazer Swift was man of the match. Luke Phillips played well in midfield. There were some very exciting mini soccer matches played with three of the games being decided in the final minute. The two Under 10 teams played against Town Green. Both games were closely contested with honours evenly shared between the two clubs. Scoring for the Whites were man of the match Ivalin Melyov, Steven Mordaunt and Jake Ritchie. Goalkeeper Ben Marsh made a string of very good saves. Harry Knowles and Jacob Lewis scored for the Under 10 Blacks in another match destined to be decided in the last minute. Man of the match was goalkeeper Marc Whitelaw. Man of the match Oliver Charnock, Jake Bellemey, Sam Mycek and Martin Melyov scored in another thrilling game. This time between FJSC Under 9’s and Hesketh Colts Blue. FJSC Under 8’s played Redgate Green. Oliver Buch-Platt and Ben Murphy scored. Gabe Bellemey was man of the match. Corey Ashworth also played very well. Fraser Holloway scored for FJSC Under 7 Blacks in another fixture with Redgate. Harry Lofthouse was man of the match in this encounter.
