Pick your own Pumpkins near Southport now open

Preparations for Halloween are gathering pace at one Merseyside farm, where you can spy a sea of orange from the road as you drive by.

There are pumpkins of all different shapes, colours and sizes, and some of their biggest pumpkins weigh in at a whopping 30lbs.

Poplar Farm

This road side patch is now open from 9.30am to 5pm, everyday.

Grab a wheel barrow and explore the patch for your perfect pumpkin. Any pumpkin, any size are £3. Don’t forget to bring wellies.

Refreshments are available on site.

Poplar Farm, is on the A5147 Delf Lane, Downholland, near Ormskirk (in between the Kings Arms and Scarisbrick Arms).

Pick your own pumpkin started yesterday, Saturday, October 10th.

Remember to bring wellies as it is very muddy in the field.

Church View Farm Shop on Southport Road, Lydiate is open 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm.

Eddie, who runs the farm, said: “We’ve got around seven or eight thousand pumpkins here. It’s great for the kids to come down and see where their food comes from.
