Subway is coming to Formby Village
Subway is coming to Formby Village. If everything goes to plan, they will be open for business on Chapel Lane on 8th August in the old Johnsons the Cleaners store.
The Sandwich chain is to open another eight outlets across Merseyside - including the one in Formby - creating at least 40 new jobs. Subway is aiming to reach a milestone of 200 stores in the Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria and Isle of Man region by the end of 2015.
Those regions combined currently have 159 stores. Among the locations for the new outlets will be Formby, Croxteth, Norris Green, Hoylake and Widnes.
Spearheading the growth in the region is Subway development agent Neil Denny. He is responsible for growing the franchise in line with consumer demand and heading up teams that offer support to franchisees on aspects such as site selection, leasing, purchasing and marketing.
He said: “The level of growth that the Subway brand has experienced in the UK and Ireland is a fantastic achievement.
“Expansion in our region is going strong and we are looking forward to opening many more stores throughout 2015.
“The plan for further growth is in response to the increasing consumer demand in the region for affordable, healthier choices.
“With a population of 1.4m people in Merseyside, we believe these plans are very achievable during 2015 and we are actively looking to attract local entrepreneurs to become franchisees operating these new stores.”
In addition to finding and opening stores in Merseyside in traditional high street locations, retail parks and shopping centres, the Subway brand’s development within the non-traditional sector is set to increase over the coming years in partnership with leading convenience stores and forecourt owners such as Euro Garages, Applegreens, Budgens and Spar.
