Formby Live Music Festival Next Weekend

It’s just a week to go to Formby Live Music Festival and with lots of live music and family entertainment organisers are confident it will be the best yet.

Next weekend, Formby is hosting a very special event called Formby Live. This year it will be bigger and better than previous years because they have really pushed the boat out with road closures, big stages and top recording artists.

Formby Live is all about the music and Formby - getting people who live here into our lovely shopping centre and even getting people from outside our area to appreciate what Formby is all about.

This is a FREE music festival. We don't charge a penny.

It is funded by Woodwards, Café D'Art, The Parish Council, Formby Pool, the Hop and Horn and we've been fortunate to get support from Marx Insurance and Dowhigh Construction too. We will be collecting on behalf of Stick 'n' Step charity (supporting children with cerebral palsy) on Sunday and hope people will give a donation.

So what’s happening?

On 7pm Friday 26th June Formby Live is launched by main sponsor, Woodwards Wine Bar with local band BooGaLoo followed at 9:30 with the fantastic Groove Bandits. The music starts at 9pm at Café D’Art with The Caroline 199 then The Shamones taking the music into the wee small hours.

2pm Saturday sees the start of the Live Music Ramble details as follows:

Sunday 28th June

it’s all about family fun and live, live music! As in previous years Formby Pool will host the Merseycats Rock ‘n’ Roll stage where the performers will be raising money for Children’s charities.

There will be plenty of activities for kids of all ages including a Bouncy castle, a bouncy slide, face painting, beat the goalie competition, outdoor soft play area and Pool inflatable sessions. A BBQ will be in operation throughout the day along with a bar and other refreshments.

Meanwhile on Chapel Lane.....

There will be a main stage near the roundabout hosted by local singer/songwriter Pete Beahan and presenting a fantastic line-up headlined by The Farm (acoustic)!

Café D’Art and Woodwards will have live music all day long too, so if it rains (it won’t but if it does…. There’ll be plenty of entertainment indoors, too!

Also, in Chapel Lane there will be fun-fair rides for the kids, a host of artisan market stalls, and plenty of BBQ’s, Beer Tents and lots to eat.

Look out for new kids in town, Hop and Horn, who will have a Beer tent and live music outside their new premises which will be open early in July.
