An amphibious US Military Cargo vehicle which is on display at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton is coming to our Bubble tomorrow.
It will leave New Brighton by sea and travel across the bay to Crosby Beach. It will then drive along the beach right through to Southport passing through our beautiful Formby.
Detroit Dave, the 74 year old owner, who is a military vehicle enthusiast is using the vehicle to raise money for the 'Help the Heroes' charity.
Dave said he took 18 months to refurbish and rebuild the 15 tonne vehicle at Wallasey docks and would love to do rides on it next Spring. It was originally built in California and is capeable of driving over land and sea. They were used by the US Army and Navy as Cargo vehicles with some serving in the Vietnam War.
Dave will be arriving on Formby Beach between 11am and 1pm. We will let you know an exact time tomorrow but, everyone is welcome to go down and have a look at this huge American monster.
