Congratulations to Formby JSC who won the Chairmans Cup

Victory over Hesketh Colts secured via a Megan Houston brace

The Chairman’s Cup is a free football tournament funded by West Lancs Community Leisure Trust. This was the third year running it has been held at Banks Leisure Centre and the first year of all girls football teams. There were eight teams in total, Town Green (two teams), Crosby Stewart, Formby JSC (three teams), Hesketh Colts (two teams).

There was a mix of under 13s and under 12s teams.

A group stage of four teams was held in each group then it went to knock out stages until the final was decided with Hesketh Colts taking on Formby JSC.

Formby JSC were the eventual winners, beating Colts 2-0 in the close final.

Both goals were scored by Megan Houston.

Her team mates Nina Macy, Sophie Dixon, Ellie Brewer and goalie Olivia Mulvey all played their part in a great performance.
