Formby Royal British Legion to launch Poppy Appeal with vintage military vehicles in the Village

Formby Royal British Legion is preparing for a special day of events in the Village on Saturday 10th October, as the local branch launches this year’s Remembrance Poppy Appeal.

The Formby branch will be at Waitrose & Partners in Formby from 10am until 4pm, where residents are invited to come along, show their support and meet members of the Royal British Legion.

In conjunction with the Military Vehicle Trust, a selection of vintage military vehicles will be on display, giving visitors the opportunity to see some fascinating pieces of military history up close.

Poppy Appeal merchandise will also be available during the day, giving the Formby community an early opportunity to support the annual appeal and the important work carried out by the Royal British Legion.

The event is also a chance to find out more about the Formby branch itself. Anyone interested in supporting the branch and becoming involved in the work it carries out locally is encouraged to stop for a chat and find out about becoming a member.

Coffee morning at Holy Trinity

The Formby Royal British Legion Women’s Section will also be holding a coffee morning on the same day at Holy Trinity Church Workshop.

Running from 9am until 12 noon, the coffee morning will give residents another opportunity to support the Royal British Legion while enjoying a hot drink and something sweet.

With both events taking place on Saturday 10th October, the branch is hoping to see plenty of people from across Formby coming along to support the Poppy Appeal, meet its members and learn more about the work of the Royal British Legion within our community.
