A police investigation has been launched following a suspicious incident at a building site in Formby that sparked concern among residents.
Officers were called at around 7.35pm on Thursday 23 April after reports that two men had climbed a tower on a construction site on Brewery Lane and deliberately damaged a CCTV camera.

The incident is believed to be linked to the police presence witnessed by members of the public, with two police vehicles seen at the scene near the Formby Bypass between Southport Road and RAF Woodvale.
In a further twist, a white Ford Transit van was found abandoned on the site and is understood to be connected to the site’s fuel tankers, raising additional questions about what may have taken place.

Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing, with officers now reviewing CCTV footage as they work to identify those involved.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact Merseyside Police, quoting reference 26000321236.
