Travellers Return to Lifeboat Road – Area Cordoned Off as Parking Concerns Grow Ahead of Hot Weekend

Travellers have returned to Lifeboat Road in Formby, parking up out of the way but occupying a significant number of spaces in an already limited car park — just as Formby prepares for a boiling hot and extremely busy weekend.
We understand that part of the area has been cordoned off, presumably by police, although no official statement has been issued at this time.
With sunshine drawing in visitors from across the region, parking is now a major concern. The car park was already full by 11:30am today (Friday) – and this is before schools finish for the weekend rush.
While the group is currently not causing any disturbance, the volume of vehicles and the reduced parking availability is likely to cause major congestion issues for beachgoers and locals alike over the coming days.
If you’re planning a visit to the beach or Lifeboat Road area this weekend, we strongly advise:
Arriving early
Using public transport
Considering alternative access points
We will monitor the situation and provide updates if Sefton Council or Merseyside Police issue any statements.
If you’re affected or have any further information, please feel free to message Formby Bubble or email to info@formbybubble.com
