Traffic warning as roadworks hit one of Formby’s busiest roundabouts

Motorists are being advised to expect possible delays in Formby as roadworks are taking place around the busy roundabout connecting Chapel Lane, School Lane, Three Tuns Lane and Halsall Lane.
Scottish Power Energy Networks is carrying out the works, with temporary multi way traffic lights being used to control vehicles through the junction.
The works began today, Tuesday 6th October, and are currently scheduled to continue until the end of Wednesday 7th October.
As the work is centred around one of the main roundabouts through Formby, delays could affect traffic approaching from several directions, including vehicles travelling along Chapel Lane, School Lane, Three Tuns Lane and Halsall Lane.

The junction can already become particularly busy at peak times, so motorists travelling through this part of Formby are advised to allow a little extra time for their journeys while the temporary traffic management is in place.
There is currently no footway closure listed and the works are expected to be completed by the end of Wednesday, although timings can change depending on progress.

We will keep an eye on the works and update residents if there are any significant changes or delays.
