The countdown is officially on for Southport Air Show 2026, which returns to Southport Seafront this Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August.
And this year it is not just about what is happening in the skies. There is a huge amount to see and do on the ground throughout the weekend, making it a full family day out.
Gates open at 10am on both days, with the flying displays beginning at around 12.30pm.
Best of all, children under 16 go FREE!

Sunday’s finale promises to be something very special as the incredible RAF Typhoon takes to the skies above Southport.
AND THERE IS LOTS HAPPENING ON THE GROUND
You don’t have to spend the entire day looking upwards because there will be plenty happening along Marine Drive and the seafront from the moment the gates open.
THE MILITARY VILLAGE
One of the big ground attractions is the Armed Forces Military Village, where visitors can get close to impressive military equipment and meet serving members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
It is also a chance for anyone interested in a future career with the Armed Forces to speak directly to the people who do the jobs and find out more about the different opportunities available.
AIR CADETS
Local Air Cadets will also be at the show, volunteering and talking to young people about the opportunities available through the organisation.
As well as aviation, cadets can get involved in sports, target shooting, adventure training and activities that can lead towards qualifications including BTECs and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
REPLICA AIRCRAFT
Aviation enthusiasts will be able to get much closer to the action on the ground with replica aircraft displays to explore.
FLIGHT SIMULATORS
Ever wondered what it feels like to be sitting in the cockpit?
Visitors can climb aboard the flight simulators and experience some of the sensations of flying an aircraft for themselves.
FAMILY FUN AND CHILDREN’S ATTRACTIONS
There will be plenty to keep younger visitors entertained throughout the day, including:

⭐ Hook a Duck and traditional games
⭐ Children’s activities
⭐ Family entertainment
⭐ Interactive exhibits
STALLS ALONG MARINE DRIVE
Marine Drive will also be packed with stalls to browse throughout the weekend.
Expect everything from military memorabilia and original artwork to children’s toys, gifts and tasty treats, giving visitors plenty to explore between flying displays.
FOOD AND DRINK
Visitors are welcome to bring their own food into the Air Show, although barbecues, gas BBQs and open fires are not permitted because of the fire risk and potential damage to the surrounding habitat.
PARKING
Air Show car parks open from 9am.
Parking is available on Marine Drive, Princes Park, the Esplanade car park and Victoria Park, with parking costing £10 per car per day, payable on arrival.
Accessible parking is also available, with hard standing accessible spaces at the Esplanade and Marine Drive car parks.
TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
Southport railway station is approximately a 10 minute walk from the Air Show.
Merseyrail is also offering a special £2 Adult Return ticket to Southport from any other Merseyrail station on selected event dates, including Southport Air Show weekend.
ACCESSIBLE VIEWING
Dedicated accessible viewing areas will be available on the seawall, including an area close to Southport Pier.
These areas are on hard standing surfaces and have dedicated accessible toilet facilities and unobstructed views of the flying displays.
Visitors whose disability means they require a carer can also receive free admission for one carer, subject to providing the required supporting documentation at the box office.
TAKING DOGS
Dogs are permitted but organisers strongly advise visitors not to bring dogs because of the extremely loud noise produced by some of the aircraft.
Any dogs that do attend must remain on a lead.
TICKETS
Adult tickets are £13 plus booking fee, while UNDER 16s GO FREE.
Tickets can also be purchased from the box offices on the day, subject to availability.
