Renovations are well underway at Holly’s Minimart on Redgate, Formby, in a major transformation reopening as a Premier convenience store following a complete refurbishment and significant expansion.

Premier stores are independently owned and operated by local retailers, supported by one of the UK’s largest convenience symbol groups. With more than 4,400 Premier stores nationwide, the brand is known for combining trusted high-street brands with competitive pricing, regular promotions and strong community-focused service.

Founded in 1994, Premier became part of the Tesco family in 2018, following Tesco’s acquisition of Booker Group — further strengthening its product range and buying power.

This ambitious redevelopment represents an investment of almost £500,000, increasing the store’s footprint from 1,100 sq ft to 2,800 sq ft by incorporating the former soft-play centre next door. The entire shop will be completely refitted with brand-new equipment, fixtures and service areas to deliver a modern, high-quality shopping experience.

When the new Premier store opens, customers can look forward to:

• Hot food counter and in-store bakery

• Snappy Shopper home delivery

Subject to approval, further services being explored include:

• EV charging points

• Post Office counter

• Sandwich bar

• Hosprep Chinese fresh ready meals

• CookFood healthy meal boxes
