Ongoing incident as Fire Crews and Police Attend Suspected Arson Attack in Formby

Emergency services were called to a flat on Chindit Close, Formby, in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 31st December, following reports of a fire. The incident remains ongoing, with crews still in attendance at 1:15am.

The call was received at approximately 12:20am, and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Witnesses have stated that the property had been broken into and that the fire was deliberately started at the top of the staircase inside the flat.

Thankfully, the property has been unoccupied for around three months, and there are no reports of any injuries.

The incident is being treated as suspected arson. At the time of writing, fire crews remain on site and Police have arrived at the scene while the situation continues to be dealt with.
