Merseyside Police have set up 9 Dispersal Zones including Formby from 3pm tomorrow till 1st November
Merseyside Police have set up NINE Dispersal Zones across Sefton from 3pm Sunday until 1st November. This period covers Mischief Night snd Halloween Night.
The Dispersal Zones have been set up in Maghull, Bootle, Formby, Crosby, Birkdale, Litherland, Southport, Netherton and Waterloo.
What is a Dispersal Zone?
Under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2014, the Police can specify that an area is a dispersal zone.
In these areas, police officers or PCS & TOs have the Dispersal power (under certain circumstances) to:
Require anyone to leave the area and prevent them from returning for up to 48 hours.
Require a person to surrender items that can be used to cause anti-social behaviour.
Send under 16s home or to a place of safety.
Arrest anyone who ignores the instruction.
Why has it been put in place?
The dispersal zone is just one tool used to help combat anti-social behaviour in the area which has been causing damage to property in the locality and putting the community at risk of injury.
How long does it last?
The dispersal zone will be in place from:
1500hrs on Sunday 30th October 2022 to
01:00 hrs on Tuesday 1st November 2022
after which it will be reviewed and, if necessary,

Dispersal Zone in Formby until 1st November
A dispersal zone has been created to help combat anti-social behaviour in the area of #Formby over the Halloween period.
The dispersal zone will be in place from: 3:00pm on Sunday 30th October 2022 until 01:00am on Tuesday 1st November 2022 after which it will be reviewed and, if necessary, extended.
Where is the Dispersal Zone?
The zone will cover all areas within the boundaries of:
Long Lane Footpath, Church Road,
Liverpool Road,
Altar Lane,
Hoggs Hill Lane,
The Railway line,
Kirklake Road,
Woodlands Road,
Wicks Lane,
Freshfield Road.
