Merseyrail Service Disruption – Southport Line Suspended - Train services on the Southport line are currently suspended between Formby and Southport due to a fallen tree blocking the track between Formby and Freshfield.
Rail replacement buses have been requested to operate between Formby and Southport, however services are currently very limited and not yet in full operation. Disruption is expected to continue until 13:00 on Friday 4 October.
Impact:
• All train services to and from Southport are suspended between Formby and Southport.
Additional Information:
• Ticket acceptance is in place on Stagecoach (X2) and Arriva bus services in the affected areas until 12:00.
• A very limited replacement bus service has been requested between Moorfields and Southport, but this is not yet running.
• Passengers using the Northern Line are advised to plan ahead and make alternative travel arrangements where possible.
Merseyrail apologises for the disruption and thanks passengers for their patience while the obstruction is cleared.
