It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a much loved and familiar face in Formby, David Cook.
David, husband to Eunice, much loved dad to Gavin and Lisa, and a proud grandad to Carla, Claire, Lianne and Jodi, passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning on 30 January. He died with dignity and love in his own home, with his granddaughter Carla by his side.
Many in the village will remember David fondly from his years working at the Tesco petrol station, or spotting him on his regular charity shop adventures around Formby. He was a gentle, kind presence and someone so many people recognised and smiled at without even realising how much he meant to them.
David’s funeral will be a public service and will take place at Thornton Crematorium on Tuesday 10 February at 1.30pm.
His family have been deeply touched and overwhelmed by the kindness, love and support shown so far. Messages of love and remembrance are warmly welcomed and can be sent to Carla on 07518 608816. Carla and her nan take great comfort in reading every message and truly appreciate the care shown by the community.
Sending love and heartfelt condolences to all of David’s family at this very difficult time.
With love,
David’s loving family ❤️
