Gore’s Lane Closure Extended Again….

The major roadworks at the junction of Gores Lane, Old Town Lane and Piercefield Road in #Formby are still ongoing, despite the road being due to reopen originally on 30th July.

The road remains completely blocked today, Sunday 16 August, and the latest information now shows the closure has been extended until 11.59pm on Tuesday 18 August.

When we first reported on these works on 28 July, they were expected to finish on 30 July. That was then extended to 14 August and has now been pushed back once again to 18 August.

The substantial excavation, being carried out by United Utilities Water, has now been causing disruption in the area for several weeks.

Anyone travelling through this part of Formby will still need to use an alternative route.

Hopefully Tuesday will finally see the road reopen after weeks of disruption.
