Formby, You’re On the Board, Now Help Us Finish the Game!
It’s happening! Formby’s very own property board game is coming to life, the votes are climbing, the ideas are getting better and better and YOU can still help decide what ends up in the finished game.
Even better, by taking part you could win a copy of the finished Formby board game!
The idea is simple.
Instead of the familiar London streets and locations you find on traditional property games, this one will be all about FORMBY, our roads, our beach, our pinewoods, our landmarks, our community and all those funny little things about living here that only locals understand and Formby residents are helping to create it!
Already 189 votes have been cast and the live leaderboard is starting to give us a fascinating glimpse of what the finished game could look like.
THE BOARD DESIGN
The Community Edition is racing ahead with an incredible 72% of the vote, followed by the Heritage Edition on 17% and the Formby Edition on 11%.
THE PLACES
Formby Station and Freshfield Station are already confirmed, while Formby Beach currently leads the special locations with 17 votes, followed closely by Formby Pool with 15, with the Pinewoods also in the running.
But there is still so much to decide.
And this is where YOU come in.
You can suggest the roads and locations you think deserve a place on the board.
You can help name the game’s very own currency, Formbucks is currently leading, but can anyone come up with something better?
You can even write ideas for the cards players will pick up during the game and some of those suggestions are already making us smile…
🎲 Getting stuck in the beach traffic on Lifeboat Road.
🐿️ Spotting one of Formby’s famous red squirrels.
🚆 Getting delayed at the station.
🚦 Arriving at the level crossing just as the barriers come down.
🗑️ Forgetting green bin day.
🎄 Being chosen to switch on the Formby Christmas lights.
🫧 And even being trapped in beach traffic and spending your turn posting about it on Formby Bubble! 😂
This is exactly what will make the finished game special.
It’s not simply a board with Formby road names printed on it. The idea is to create something packed with the places, memories, humour and quirks that make Formby home and your idea could actually make it into the finished game.

By getting involved and submitting your entry, you’ll also have the opportunity to be one of the prize winners receiving the completed Formby board game.
Prize winners will be drawn on Monday 31 August 2026 using random selection software.
Then, once all the entries have been brought together, the community’s favourite ideas will be identified, Stephanie Macnab Estate Agents will select the winning board name and locations…and the Formby board game will go into production!
There’s another lovely part to the project too.
❤️ Any surplus generated after production and running costs will be donated to St Joseph’s Hospice, supporting its work across Merseyside and beyond.

So get the family involved. Ask the children and grandchildren. Send it to that friend who has lived in Formby forever and knows every road, landmark and local story. The more of Formby that gets involved, the more “Formby” the finished game will be.
