Road Closures in Place for Carriageway Resurfacing on Firs Crescent and Firs Close.
Residents and motorists are advised that road closures are currently in place on Firs Crescent and Firs Close in Formby while essential carriageway resurfacing works are carried out by Sefton Council.
Firs Crescent
Closure dates: Sunday 6 July to Friday 17 July 2026
Times: 24 hours a day
Reason: Full-length carriageway resurfacing
Traffic management: Full road closure
Firs Close
Closure dates: Sunday 6 July to Friday 10 July 2026
Times: 24 hours a day
Reason: Full-length carriageway resurfacing
Traffic management: Full road closure

The highway improvement works are currently in progress under permits issued by Sefton Council.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times throughout the duration of the works.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible, allow extra time for their journeys, and follow any signed diversion routes and temporary traffic management measures that are in place.
The works are part of Sefton Council’s programme of highway improvements to resurface and maintain the local road network.
