Emergency Response Under Pressure as Gridlock Blocks Access to Formby Beach Incident

Emergency services are currently responding to an incident at Formby Beach, reported at approximately 3:45pm this afternoon.

The response includes the air ambulance, Coastguard helicopter and multiple police incident response vehicles. However, access to the beach is being severely impacted by heavy traffic, with all surrounding roads reported to be gridlocked.

Police have introduced a temporary one way system in an effort to ease congestion, but significant delays remain in place across the area.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible to allow emergency services clear access.
