Brand new £400k Specsavers opens in Formby Village Today ahead of official launch on Monday

The doors have officially opened this morning, Thursday 17th September, at the brand new Specsavers on Chapel Lane in Formby Village following an investment of more than £400,000.
After around two decades at The Cloisters on Halsall Lane, Specsavers Formby has now moved into its much larger new home in the former Yousseff gym premises on Chapel Lane.
Today marks the soft opening of the new store, allowing the team to settle into their new surroundings and equipment ahead of a special official launch on Monday 21st September.
Everyone invited to Monday’s official launch
Specsavers Formby will be holding its official opening celebration on Monday 21st September and everyone is invited to come along.
The team is planning a special day to celebrate the opening of its new home, with an ice cream van, treats for visitors and lots going on throughout the day.

It will also give customers the opportunity to have a look around the impressive new premises and see just how much the Formby store has changed.
More than £400,000 invested in Formby.
The relocation represents one of the biggest changes for Specsavers Formby in around 20 years.
More than £400,000 has been invested in transforming the Chapel Lane premises into a significantly larger and fully accessible store offering an expanded range of eye and hearing services under one roof.
One of the biggest reasons for the move was the need for considerably more space.
At its former Halsall Lane premises, part of the store was upstairs, which could present difficulties for customers with disabilities or mobility issues.
The new Chapel Lane store is entirely on one level, making it much more accessible while providing the team with considerably more room.

The larger premises also mean Specsavers Formby can offer its complete range of glasses, giving customers much greater choice.
Eye and hearing care under one roof
One of the major new additions at the Chapel Lane store is audiology.
Customers will be able to access private and NHS hearing tests as well as ear wax removal services alongside the existing eye care services.
It effectively creates a one stop shop for eye and hearing care in the heart of Formby Village.
DVLA sight tests now coming to Formby
The new facilities and equipment will also enable Specsavers Formby to carry out DVLA sight tests locally.
This means people who require a DVLA sight test will no longer have to travel further afield to have one completed.
The investment in the new store has provided improved facilities and equipment, allowing the Formby team to offer an even wider range of services to the local community.
A new chapter after around 20 years in Formby

Although the move marks the end of Specsavers’ long association with The Cloisters on Halsall Lane, the team hasn’t gone far.
Its brand new home is now open on Chapel Lane, right in the heart of Formby Village. With more space, much improved accessibility, an expanded range of glasses, new hearing services and DVLA sight testing, the £400,000 investment represents a significant commitment to the future of Specsavers in Formby.
The store is open from today, Thursday 17th September, with the big official launch taking place on Monday 21st September.
Everyone is invited along to help the team celebrate, enjoy some of the treats and see the brand new Specsavers Formby for themselves.
