A big thank you to Tommy Norbury and the Hightown Beach Clean group for their continued hard work and dedication to keeping our coastline clean and safe 🌊
During Sunday’s beach clean on 19th April, one full bag of storm debris was cleared from along the toe line of the dunes, helping to prevent waste from being buried under shifting sand. There is still more work to be done, particularly along the tideline and in areas where flotsam has gathered further down the beach.

A further community beach clean has now been planned for 28th April at 11am, and anyone who would like to get involved is very welcome to come along and help protect our beautiful coastline and marine wildlife. Full details can be found in the events section.
During the clean, a dead porpoise was found washed up on the beach and has been reported to the relevant authorities.
Thank you also to Green Sefton for carrying out fence repairs in the area.
This serves as a sad reminder of the impact our environment can have on marine life, and why the work of local volunteers is so important
