Formby school chef clinches North West crown in School Chef of the Year 2020!

The three North West contestants who qualified to take part in the first of the live Regional Finals held on Monday 2 December at Manchester College had to cook their dishes against the clock and under the scrutiny of a panel of Judges. They had 90 minutes to prepare four portions of a main course and a dessert suitable for serving to 11 year olds in school.
The overall winner of the Regional Final and the new LACA North West School Chef of the Year 2020 is HOLLY CHARNOCK from Formby, Liverpool.
Holly is employed by Sefton Catering Services and is based at Woodlands Primary School, Formby, Liverpool. She now goes on to compete against nine other Regional Champions plus two judges’ wildcard competitors in the National Final to be held on 5 March 2020 in Stratford Upon Avon.
Her two winning dishes were:
MAIN COURSE: BRAISED BEEF TORTELLINI -
Braised beef tortellini with spinach, a tomato & basil sauce, balsamic reduction and a parmesan crisp
DESSERT: CHOCOLATE BROWNIE & BANANA ICE CREAM -
Chocolate brownie and banana ice cream – chocolate & beetroot brownie served with banana crumble ice cream and a raspberry & vanilla coulis
Holly Charnock is now through to the National Final of School Chef of the Year 2020.
