Formby Junior Sports Club announces some exciting news as it prepares for another season starting on Saturday 7th September.
There will not only be a Reception and Year One Group for boys but for the first time there will also be a Reception and Year One section for girls as well. The two groups will be trained by a UEFA B Coach before the children play fun matches which is sure to be a huge bonus for FJSC.
Next season Inter Club children in Year Two, Three, Four and Five will all have the opportunity to be coached as well as small-sided games of football.
There will be an Inter Club Division for the Year Four and Year Five Boys going back to the FJSC’s traditional and very popular format that has been in operation with so much success throughout the club’s sixty- year history.
RECREATIONAL FOOTBALL
For the children in Year Six, Seven and Eight there will weekly recreational football where friends can play with friends in a purely fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Teams will be sorted out on the day. Coaching will still be available for those who want it.
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM NEWS
After forming a FJSC Under 6 team a few weeks ago from the Inter Club Year One age group, an even younger FJSC team played their first match last Sunday. The team were all Reception boys. These two teams will play a few more friendly matches before the summer holidays.
All FJSC’s other Representative Teams are busy in their preparations for the new season.
NEW REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS
Next season there will be new boys teams at Under 5 and Under 6 who will have friendly games on Sundays in addition to Inter Club football on Saturdays.
TASTER SESSIONS FOR THE NEXT TWO SATURDAYS
Boys in Pre School, Reception and Year One are invited to free taster sessions at Deansgate Lane on Saturdays 29th June and 6th July from 9am to 10am
GIRLS’ FOOTBALL
Free Taster sessions for Girls from Reception and Year One up to and including Year Six will also be held at Deansgate Lane on Saturdays 29th June and 6th July. Coaching at 9.30am and games at 10am to 11am.
NEW GIRLS’ TEAMS
For girls wishing to play in team on Sundays there are places available in the following age group teams. They are at the next school year for Year 2’s, Year 3’s, Year 4’s, Year 5’s and Year 6’s.
Girls interested need to attend the two taster sessions. Teams will be go ahead now if there is sufficient interest, so girls if you are not in a team and want to be in one please come along on 29th June and 6th July at 9.30am.
FJSC MEMBERSHIP FOR NEXT SEASON
Membership forms can be downloaded from the club website and the club is now open to join for next season.
Membership fees for the 2019-2020 season - £10 Reception, Year One £30 and for all children in Year Two and above £50.
ABOUT FJSC IN A NUTSHELL
Formby Junior Sports Club was founded in 1959 and caters for all abilities and is open to all. It is a very friendly club where a host of new friends can be made. It is also an FA Charter Standard Development Club and was the Liverpool County F.A. Charter Standard Development Club of the Year just two years ago. It has organised football for thousands of boys in Formby and the surrounding area for sixty years and for the last twenty years has developed a very successful girls’ section as well.
