The 7th Formby Festival comes to Duke Street Park on 19th to 21st July 2019

The Formby Festival is back on Friday 19th July, Saturday 20th July and Sunday 21st July. Organisers of the festival are expecting to attract a footfall of around 10,000 people to Duke Street Park over that weekend that has become a North West favourite in July.

Formby Festival is a 3 day celebration in the heart of Formby. The festival raises money for local and national charities and is run by a team of volunteers. Formby festival is more than just a festival. It brings food, drink, live music and entertainment over 3 days.

Friday 19th July

Family Party in the Park. Showground opens at 5pm. This evening’s focus is family entertainment on the stages in the centre of Formby. Live music from the 80s, 90s, 00s, up to today.

Saturday 21st July

The Greatest Show Saturday begins at 11am.

A circus themed day with jugglers and magicians and live entertainment. The craft centre will be open for business with a wide range of clothes, jewellery, cakes, cheeses, wine and artworks and the display arena will feature dog shows, gymnastics, martial arts and dance troupes.

Cookery demonstrations from experienced chefs take place throughout the day with our famous chefs. Our Formby Show tent and Bake Off will display all entries and award trophies in twelve categories.

We have many events to interest and entertain children. MR STIX and artists in residence will be entertaining the children in and around their very own tent.

Our main stage has a wide variety of musical performances throughout the day with a journey through the musical decades.

Adam Jay. Alternative singer and guitarist with lyrics of teen experiences. With influences from the Killers and the Kaiser Chiefs, his music is upbeat and lively. His live performances are unforgettable for the audience.

Gallia. Becky (drums), Gallia(vox), Rachel (bass/vox), MacKenzie (keys/vox), Zak (guitar). With energy as high as her ponytail, she takes every stage by storm. Gallia is the perfect combination of sassy, sweet, honest and fun.

The Ambition. Liverpool pop rock band, Jack, Scott, Max, Anthony.

Following the dance-music session, the evening ends with a bespoke circus-themed musical firework and video display. A unique display beginning at 10.35pm, designed specially for the Formby Festival. Fireworks, stereo music and stereo video are synchronised to create a stunning culmination to the Great Show Day.

A stunning show for all the family!

Formby Festival

Formby Festival was born in 2013, since then it has grown into a pinnacle part of Formby’s summer calendar. Each year families from across the North West travel to take in the delights we have to offer! From our countless world food and drink stalls to the thriving main stage and even the specialist children’s entertainment we have there truly is something for everyone to enjoy!

Formby Festival was set up to try and recreate the old Formby Show that was a highlight across the country many years ago. We set out to create a new event with a twist which could incorporate food, drink and music and last for a weekend offering something for all ages. It has since grown over the past few years and is firmly set on the calendar as the third weekend in July. Over 10,000 people attend this event and it is growing each year.

With cuisines and delights from across the globe there's something to satisfy each person's taste. Italian? Thai? Indian? Real ales, fine wines and everything in between. Whatever quenches your thirst we've got it!

Are you an artisan enthusiast? With home-made gifts, specialist snacks and much more you won't be disappointed! We have chef demos throughout the Saturday and Sunday.

Our main stage is jam packed with the finest talent the UK has to offer. From Friday night right through to Sunday evening you'll hear local bands, choral groups and even see performances from TV stars!

We've got things to keep the little ones busy too! Inflatable’s, archery, climbing wall, water bumper boats, paint balling, archery, the cave, rodeo bull, steam train, donkey rides to name but a few. We even have free activities for the kids to include kids cooking zone, magic shows, balloon modelling, circus school and a craft marquee (all free). Why not watch the dog display team or other displays in the arena. You can even enter our bake off completion. You'll find it all here.

Every year we aim to make Formby Festival even better than the last.
