The Bridge Inn Community Farm in Formby are holding a Geoffest on Saturday 18th May. The event will begin at 5pm, gates open at 4:30pm running through until 11pm. Local rock bands Fag Ash Lil, Building Giants, L’il Devil and Raw Deal will be playing along with Hayburner, the band Geoff created with the students from Bridge Inn Community Farm. Tickets are £10, under 14's £5.

Car parking is available on the park at £5 per car, so just a short stroll to the stage.

Refreshments are available from Willow Catering and The Cellar Bar (Please note due to licensing regulations we cannot allow the public to bring their own alcohol onto the park, drinks are available from The Cellar Bar).

All proceeds will go to providing defibrillators in our community and to The Joe Strummer Foundation, who provide support to projects that create empowerment thorough music. (The Joe Strummer Foundation is not involved in the organisation of this event ).

Geoff was our much loved friend and colleague and his passing leaves a huge void in our hearts and lives. Geoff worked at Bridge Inn Farm for many years and was also the football coach for The Southport Special Athletes. He was a man of infinite patience and generosity and he was generous with the most precious of gifts anyone can give, his time. He was always ready to listen, to help or advise, to encourage and to comfort.

Geoff was a man of great humour and warmth with his love of Volkswagons, Manchester United, fishing and music, whether playing guitar or going to gigs it is his love of music we wish to celebrate. His enthusiasm with our students and for the band they formed, they made music that wasn’t just astounding to listen to but life changing for the students involved.

Geoff’s positive attributes are too many to list, his smile and his friendship will be the ones we all miss most and we are honoured to have had him as not just a colleague or mentor but as a special and wonderful friend. As our lives are diminished by his passing so they are richer for having known a man who had such a positive aspect on all who came into contact with him.

He leaves a huge legacy at Bridge Inn, we miss you so much Geoff Spencer but we know you’re Rocking the Casbah in heaven.

We would like to thank our sponsers: Merseyrail, The Southport Hesketh Round Table, Tripoint Automotive, Parker and Crowther Veterinary Surgeons and The Southport Comedy Festival for their support. Thanks also go to The Southport Flower show and Victoria Park Events for their help and support in organising the event.
