Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report - 29/04/19



Formby Junior Sports Club Under 14 Girls’ United reached the Hightown Girls’ League Under 14/15’s Cup Final after recording a very good 6 nil victory in their semi- final against Churchtown.


After a dominant first twenty minutes United went into a two-goal lead after Hannah Allmark scored two quick-fire goals. By half time the lead was doubled with spectacular strikes from Bella Plows and Anna Klaassen. FJSC kept the pressure on Churchtown after the interval and Freya Thornton and Lauren Holden scored two more goals. It was an excellent team performance. Girl of the game was Anna Klaassen.


FJSC Under 11 Atletico played their final match of the season against Remyca. Atletico scored in the second half after a Macey Taylor cross was steered home by Faye Johnson.


FJSC Under 10 Rockets played Bootle in a very even contest in midweek before playing a friendly with Rainford on Sunday. Scoring for Rockets were Eva Beckett, Florence Raikes, Megan Hulse and Hannah Jones.


FJSC Under 9’s travelled to Town Green. It was a very close match between two good teams. Dominic Maxwell, who shared the man of the match award with Will Brown, was

also on target with a goal.


FJSC Under 8 Boys’ were in action against Hesketh Colts in their final match of the season. Owen Griffiths, George Hansen and man of the match Charlie Jameson scored the goals in a very good team display.


INTER CLUB FOOTBALL

Unfortunately due to Storm Hannah the final Inter Club meeting of the season had to be cancelled at very short notice due to the worsening of the weather conditions just before nine o’clock.

FJSC’s ANNUAL PRESENTATION EVENING

The winners of the Inter Club Top Scorers and Best Attenders Competitions will receive their awards for these achievements at FJSC’s Annual Presentation Evening. The event will be held at St Jerome’s Church Hall on Friday 14 TH June at 7pm. There will also be Special Inter Club Awards

presented. Parents of children to receive these awards will be informed by the beginning of June.


Also at the Presentation Evening, the FJSC Representative teams Player of the Year Awards will also be announced and the awards will be presented. In addition the Glyn Mason Memorial Trophies – the FJSC Player of the Year and FJSC team of the Year will be made known.


EXTRA SESSIONS – 4 th MAY AND 11 TH MAY TWO EXTRA INTER CLUB AND IMPORTANT PRACTICES TO SELECT NEW SQUADS FOR NEXT SEASON HAVE BEEN ARRANGED FOR SATURDAY 4 TH AND 11 TH MAY AT DEANSGATE LANE PLAYING FIELDS.


AT 9AM – Pre School children are invited to attend in preparation for next September when they can join the Reception Inter Club section. AT 9AM - Reception Inter Club session.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR TWO BOYS OR UNDER 7’s AT 9AM – Present FJSC Year One boys and New Year One boys who are interested in joining FJSC next season and who are also interested in possibly being in another FJSC Under 7 team are invited to come along.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR THREE BOYS OR UNDER 9’s AT 9AM - Present FJSC Under 8’s are expected to attend a practice to select next season’s FJSC Under 9’s. In addition if there is sufficient interest another FJSC Under 9’s will also be formed. We have a willing manager for the new team. All that is needed are a few more Year 3 boys. New boys interested in possibly being in a FJSC Under 9 team next season are invited to attend. Boys need to attend in order to be considered for selection to the squads.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR FIVE BOYS OR UNDER 10’s AT 9AM – Present FJSC Year 4 boys who are not at the moment in the FJSC Under 9 Representative Team are asked to attend if they are interested in being selected for the new FJSC team, which next season will be the club’s FJSC Under 10’s. Only those who attend will be considered for selection.


The boys who are presently playing for the FJSC Under 9’s team and are not leaving the club at the end of the season need to attend if they wish to also be considered for the new

team. If there are sufficient boys interested FJSC will have two teams and not one next season. This will be determined after next Saturday’s practice.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR TWO GIRLS OR UNDER 7’s AT 10AM – Present FJSC Year One Girls and New Year One girls who are interested in being in a new FJSC Under 7 team for next season are invited to attend.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR THREE GIRLS OR UNDER 8’s AT 10AM – Present FJSC Year Two Bobcats and New Year Two girls who are interested in joining the club and also possibly becoming a member of a team are invited to attend.


NEXT SEASON’S YEAR FOUR GIRLS OR UNDER 9’s AT 10AM - Present Year Three girls who are not in the FJSC Galaxy team are invited to attend together with New Year Three girls who are interested in being members of a new FJSC team. This will be FJSC under 9’s in September. There

are quite a few spaces available so for this to go ahead a good attendance is needed.


There will no more Inter Club sessions this season for boys in Year Two, Year Five, Six, Seven and Eight and girls in Year Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight.


NEXT SEASON FJSC’s new Inter Club season will commence on Saturday 7 th September, 2019.


FJSC’s Representative teams will start again on either the first or second weekend of September depending on leagues. Membership forms for the 2019/20 can now be downloaded from FJSC’s website (Club Documents). Parents are asked to read End of Season Information on FJSC’s website (News). Representative Team managers will be in contact with parents regarding necessary administration and registrations to leagues to be completed during the next few

weeks in order for boys/girls to be able to play in various leagues at the start of September.
