Very high tides today leaving just a narrow strip of beach available

There is a very high tide at today, April 21st at 1:08pm in Formby. If you are heading down to our beautiful beach, please be careful as there will be little or no beach available for approximately one hour either side of this time.

It is expected to reach temperatures of 20 degrees celcius today in Formby with zero chance of rain and just a light SE breeze. Today the tide at Formby will rise to 9.26m and will be at it's highest at 1:08pm.

It is expected to be a beautiful sunshiny day again for Easter Sunday and Easter Monday so high volumes of visitors are expected.

Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of gravitational forces exerted by the Moon, Sun, and rotation of the Earth.

National Trust issued a warning to horse riders using the beach at high tide this weekend:

If you go down, please take some photos for us. Send them to
