Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report - 07/04/19
Formby Junior Sports Club Under 13 Real Girls won 2 nil against Remyca in the semi-final of the Hightown League Cup.
Girl of the game Evie Laws scored the two all- important goals. It was a tremendous team performance. FJSC Real will now play Oxton Ladies in the final.
FJSC Under 14 United were in cup action as well. Remyca were FJSC’s opponents again. United conceded an early goal but were soon on level terms when Lauren Holden scored just before half time. Mia Shalliker then gave United the lead, finishing off a slick move in style. Girl of the game Freya Thornton extended United’s lead before Lauren Holden made it 4-1 from a powerful shot with five minutes to go.
FJSC Under 12 Valencia followed last week’s first win of the season with a 3-3 draw against, top of the league, Crosby Stuart.
FJSC Under 11 Atletico produced a very strong second half display against Newton. On target for FJSC were Faye Johnson, Ellie Greenwood, Darcey Martin and Mae Phillips. Girl of the game was defender Lilly Carroll.
FJSC Under 10 Rockets played Ravenhead. The Rockets passed the ball well and kept up a high energy level throughout. The scorers were Olivia Johnson, Felicity Pendleton, Eva Beckett and Megan Hulse. Goalkeeper Harriet Tunley made some important saves.
FJSC Under 10 Tornado produced an impressive attacking display against Bootle. Holly Foster and Izzy Parkinson scored and the girl of the game was Sophia Barnes.
FJSC Under 8’s Galaxy played FJSC Under 7/8 Bobcats. All the girls of the two FJSC teams played with great enthusiasm and no shortage of skill. Milla Johnson and Sylvie Rhymes scored for Galaxy. Skylar Davies played very well for the Bobcats in defence. Girl of the game for Galaxy was LucynGilbertson whilst defender Emily Lavin was the Bobcats player of the match.
FJSC Under 9 Boys entertained Southport and Ainsdale. Scoring for FJSC were Dominic Maxwell, James Cook, Max Ryan, Max Hall and Charlie Garvey. Joint players of them match were Will Brown and Max Hall.
FJSC Under 8 Boys were in action against Southport Trinity Blue. It was a very evenly balanced match. The scorers for the Under 8's were Harry Nelson and , man of the match, Owen Griffiths.

Although it was the start of the Easter holidays attendance was very good in most age groups. Plenty of goals were scored and there were some excellent coaching sessions throughout the morning as well.
