Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report - 18/03/19

Only three Formby Junior Sports Club matches survived the weather at the weekend.

FJSC Under 17 Girls played away at Euxton Girls. After a goalless first half Euxton took the lead after the break. FJSC fought back and Charlotte Doyle equalised with a first time long shot. Lucy Charalambou defended well and Lily Hamilton was lively on the left wing. In the final minute Ellie Brewer came close with a powerful shot but a draw was the fair result.

FJSC Under 12 Blacks lost 8 nil to Remyca. The boys tried hard against a very good team.

FJSC Under 9’s played Crosby Stuart. Late goals were scored by Archie Ogden and Charlie Garvey. Frankie Moon and Dominic Maxwell were joint players of the match.

A MESSAGE TO OUR MEMBERS OLD AND NEW

Formby Junior Sports Club has been at the very heart of this community for 60 years doing what we do best. We provide football for children of all abilities, do not make a profit and ensure money received is ploughed back into the children’s football enjoyment.

We have a 60 year proven record of success so our recipe does work and we do continually behind the scenes strive to improve things, which may not be obvious to some. We already provide free coaching most weeks and are actively pursuing grants designated to revamp the clubhouse, purchase more equipment and provide more coaching.

We are proud of those members who have joined professional teams over the years but equally proud of the members who come and tell us, years later, how much they enjoyed themselves.

We are not a social club, we are a junior football club. Maybe the two functions can combine but a track record does not exist yet in this community. So the wise person may wait and see, test the track record, whether all promises are fulfilled and then decide.

Next Saturday we start fun taster sessions for children who are not at present in the club. This is in addition to usual Inter Club. FORMBY JUNIOR SPORTS CLUB TASTER SESSIONS BEFORE NEXT SEASON FREE COACHING GAMES FOR CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES Opportunity to try out, see if you like it & join the Club. Next season you can play Inter Club Saturdays. A chance to also be in a League team on Sundays. Join us at Deansgate Lane Playing Fields - L37 3LG. Dates – 2rd and 30th March & 6th & 20th April. Reception, Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. Boys – 9am to 10am. Girls – 10am to 11am.
