Free Dementia Talk For Formby Community

Knowledge is power...
Key information, tips and strategies on how to live well with dementia are available at Formby Fire Station’s Community Rooms from 10.00 am on Saturday 9th February.
Sally Nicol from the Formby Dementia Action Group will be giving an invaluable talk for anyone who has been diagnosed with the condition and for those people supporting them.
The Formby Dementia Action Group seeks to co-ordinate support activities and raise awareness of Dementia for people living in Formby. The Group also signposts people to resources that will help and assist them. One of its members, local solicitor Liz Foggin, says “Knowledge really is power. It is natural for people to feel daunted upon diagnosis or simply stick their head in the sand but if you suspect that you or a loved is beginning to display the symptoms of dementia or have recently received adiagnosis then Sally’s talk is a really friendly guide to useful and simple practical steps of what anyone can do to make life that little bit easier.”
“Previous attendees have commented how Sally’s talk provides them with brilliant ‘lightbulb’ moments of understanding and this can only be a good thing.”
The free talk takes place between 10.00 am – 12.00 pm on Saturday 9th February in the Community Room at Formby Fire Station. There is limited parking available and free refreshments.
You can simply turn up on the day but if you wish to find out more information please telephone Sally on 01704 877655 or the Formby Library on 874177.
