Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report 10th December
Formby Junior Sports Club’s Representative Teams were nearly all in action on Sunday but unfortunately the weather conditions on Saturday caused the cancellation of Inter Club football.
FJSC BOYS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 14’s have never given up and at last through hard work, determination and perseverance won their first match in 2018. Congratulations to all the boys and team manager Andrew Gresty.
In a thrilling match the Under 14’s won 4-2 against Redgate Rovers Yellow. Andy Kimmance opened the scoring for FJSC in the first half with a shot from outside the box and was on the score sheet again before half time. Christian Schwarze made it 3 nil shortly after coming on in the second half. Redgate came back strongly and scored twice. Leading 3-2 with five minutes remaining the Under 14’s kept Redgate at bay. A quick counter attack after Sam Trainor had made a decisive tackle led to the all-important fourth FJSC goal. From a Gerard Broomfield through ball Rylie Read outpaced the Redgate defence and scored a brilliant goal.
The final whistle was blown soon after, much to the delight of the team and the parents who had waited all year to celebrate a win. Man of the match was right midfield player Conor Leyland. Also deserving special mention were right back Luke Phillips and goalkeeper Ross Ferguson.
Champion Division league leaders FJSC Under 15 Blacks played away on a very muddy Burscough pitch. The first half, although not short of action, was goalless. Alex Kirby gave FJSC the lead early in the second half only for Burscough to draw level two minutes later. Nick Moustaka gave FJSC the lead again only for Burscough to score two quick goals to lead for the first time. Kamal Khan equalised only for Burscough to score once again in this topsy-turvy encounter. Now losing 4-3 and with only four minutes left Will Neave scored from an acute angle and then in the last minute Alex Kirby scored for the Blacks to gain a dramatic 5-4 victory. Man of the match was Nick Moustaka.
FJSC Under 16’s won 3-2 against Southport and Birkdale Rangers and remain in second position in the Premier Division.
FJSC Under 13 Whites gained a 9-1 win over Southport Trinity Whites.
FJSC Under 13 Blacks lost 7-2 to Southport Trinity Blacks. Daniel Wildman and Thomas Walker scored. Ethan Dutton was man of the match for an excellent defensive display.
FJSC Under 12 Blacks played much better and narrowly lost 4-2 to Churchtown. Jack Yarwood and Dylan Riley scored. Goalkeeper Caleb Johnson made two double saves and was voted man of the match.
FJSC Under 12 Whites drew 2-2 with Tarleton Corinthians.
FJSC Under 10 Whites played Southport and Ainsdale Blue. James Henson, Dilan Sathiyanathan, Finlay Hunter, Alfie Griffiths and Zac Williams all scored. Man of the match was James Henson.
FJSC Under 10 Blacks Thomas Dent scored in the match with Crosby JFC.
FJSC Under 9’s were in action against Hesketh Colts Red. Scoring in the match for FJSC were Dominic Maxwell, Max Hall, Charlie Garvey and Jack Finnegan.
FJSC GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 15 Jets found themselves three goals down at half time to Remyca. The Jets played much better in the second half and after going close on several occasions Anna Johnson scored when she cut in from the wing and finished neatly. Jess Plows then scored Jets second goal curling in a shot from a narrow angle. At 3-2 down the Jets pressed for an equaliser but in the final minute were caught on the counter attack by Remyca and conceded a fourth goal. The Jets second half display should give the team a lot of confidence.
FJSC Under 14 United drew 4-4 with Churchtown Under 15’s after leading 4-2. It was a good effort by a depleted United team. Amy Green played well in goal.
FJSC Under 13 Real won 3-2 against Newton. Evie Law and girl of the match Georgia Garforth scored for Real. The Newton goalkeeper produced an outstanding display making a string of great saves.
FJSC Under 12 Hotspurs lost 3-2 to Bellefield. Girl of the game Ellie Todino scored.
FJSC Under 12 Valencia played Shevington Under 13’s and despite a very good effort Valencia lost 3-1. It was a much improved team display by the Under 12’s and with a bit more luck the score could have been closer.
FJSC Under 11 Atletico’s Amy Hollow and Eva Meredith produced good displays in the match against Crosby Stuart.
FJSC Under 10 Rockets produced a very determined performance against a well-organised Bootle team. The Rockets defended well and hard work in midfield helped to contribute to goals from Hannah Jones and Florence Raikes.
FJSC Under 10 Tornados were in action against Crosby Stuart. Elyssa Reece-Archer and Lois Christian played well in defence. Holly Foster in midfield produced some good passes for Jess Duncan and Isabelle Parkinson in attack. Goalkeeper Joanne Mountain made some fine saves. Girl of the game for her non-stop effort and creativity was Sophia Barnes.
FJSC Under 8 Galaxy opponents were Silcox Villa. Goalkeeper Ella Foster made some brave saves. Lily Stevens and Faith McClelland defended well. Many attacking opportunities were created through enterprising play from Amelia Scott, Ella Holden and Lucy Gilbertson. Milla Johnson was the girl of the game.

FEEDBACK TO PARENTS FROM FJSC’S PRESENTATION MEETING
The Formby Junior Sports Club Executive Committee would like to thank parents for all their ideas and suggestions. Two meetings have already been held by the Committee to consider every suggestion made. Some have already been accepted and are in the process of being introduced. For example :-
Looking into finding a more easy to access website that is tailor made for FJSC’s needs.
Utilising the offers of help from parents who have skills and specialisms that could greatly benefit FJSC.
Parents will be invited to another meeting that will be attended by members of the FJSC Executive Committee and the Working Party when the latest progress made by the club will be announced. This meeting will be arranged in January 2019.
