GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

FJSC Under 17’s lost 6-2 to West Lancs League Youth Division leaders Blackpool Girls. It was a good team effort with a goal each from Anna Rutherford and Ellie Brewer. Charlotte Doyle came close to adding to the score and Charlotte Armstrong, Lily Hamilton and Ana Waite all played well.

FJSC Under 16’s played in the Liverpool County Cup against Liverpool League leaders Liverpool Feds. An under strength FJSC, due to school commitments played with great determination but suffered a heavy defeat. Ellie Atherton forced two good saves from the Feds keeper. Simone Jones in midfield, Abby Hobbs in defence and Aimee Hollis with her tireless running, all played extremely well. However, the girl of the match award went to Annabel Gowling for an outstanding display in defence.

FJSC Under 15 Jets had no fixture.

In the Hightown League FJSC Under 14’s United played Remyca Under 15’s. It was a thrilling match from start to finish. Freya Thornton scored twice in the first ten minutes for United. Remyca fought back and by half time had leapt into a 4-2 lead. Anna Klaasen pulled a goal back and then Hannah Allmark scored twice to give United the lead again at 5-4 with just eight minutes remaining. Not to be outdone Remyca equalised with three minutes left to make the final score an incredible 5-5 draw. What a game! It was another excellent team performance by United who remain joint top of the division with Remyca.

FJSC Under 13 Albion had a very convincing victory against Newton with four goals from Aaliyah Turner, two goals each for Eva Sears and Grace Malone plus there was one goal apiece for Lucy Rimmer and Abbey Leary. Goalkeeper Sophie Hughes made some good saves including a penalty to keep another clean sheet.

In the same division FJSC Under 13 Real were in action against FJSC Under 12 Hotspurs. It was a very close match as was expected. Girl of the game Georgia Garforth, Evie Law and Sienna Fallows scored for Real.

FJSC Under 12 Valencia lost 3-1 to Hesketh Colts Blue. The Valencia team playing against a predominantly older team gave a good account of themselves and were rewarded with a goal scored by Erin Frost late on. Girl of the game for her tireless effort in attack was Izzy Shaw. Captain for the day was Sarah Allmark.

FJSC Under 11 Atletico once again produced a very pleasing display. Macey Taylor and Ellie Greenwood scored and girl of the game was Sienna Turner.

FJSC Under 10’s Rockets played Southport Trinity and maintained their good form with another strong performance. Olivia Johnson scored her first ever goal for the Rockets. Hannah Jones was also on the scoresheet with goals. Grace Doyle and Evie Balshaw were solid in defence whilst Erin Riley, Florence Raikes and Eva Becket worked as a well-organised unit setting up chances for the strikers.

FJSC Under 10 Tornados played Crosby Stuart in a competitive and exciting encounter. There was some fantastic defending. Goals were scored by Sophia Barnes and Isabelle Parkinson. Girl of the game was Lucy Duncan.

FJSC Under 8 Galaxy produced their best performance of the season so far in the match with Ormskirk. Scoring for Galaxy were Amelia Scott, Faith McClelland, Sylvie Rhymes, Milla Johnson, Ella Holden and Lily Stevens. Girl of the game was Sylvie Rhymes.

FJSC’s newest team the Under 7 Bobcats are showing much improvement with every outing. All the girls played with determination and fantastic team spirit against Rainford Rangers. Shanice Jones and Heidi Pybis scored great goals for the Bobcats.

Four FJSC Girls’ tams are unbeaten in their respective divisions so far this season. Congratulations on a great start to the season to FJSC Under 14 United, FJSC Under 13 Albion, FJSC Under 11 Atletico and FJSC Under 10 Rockets.

BOYS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

There were two wins for the Under 16 teams. FJSC Under 16’s in the Bootle League gained a 4-3 victory over Ormskirk Town Reds whilst in the Craven Minor League FJSC Under 16’s edged out Churchtown Athletic 3-2. Both teams are third in their leagues.

FJSC Under 15 Whites in the Bootle League suffered a rare defeat losing 8-3 to King Harry. The Whites goals were scored by Bill Steel, Tom Elder and man of the match Will Neave. There was some excellent football played particularly in the first half. After conceding twice FJSC pulled back to 2-2 at the interval. The second half was all about putting away chances. Unfortunately on this occasion the Whites failed to capitalise on opportunities created. The Whites slip down to fourth.

FJSC Under 15 Blacks had no game.

After some disappointing performances of late FJSC Under 14’s played very much better and narrowly lost 7-5 to fourth placed Dynamo Rangers. Jack Taylor and Sam Cousens scored two goals each and Andrew Kimmance was also a scorer. The man of the match award was shared by Luke Phillips who has been consistent all season and captain

Gerard Broomfield.

FJSC Under 13 Whites lost 3-2 to Burscough Dynamo in the Premier Division. FJSC Under 13 Blacks had no match.

FJSC Under 12 Whites lost 5-4 to Crosby Stuart in a high scoring thriller. FJSC Under 12 Blacks lost to Remyca with Reuban Dowling scoring. Man of the match was Jonny Shaw.

FJSC Under 10 Blacks got off to a slow start in the match with Churchtown but recovered very well indeed and scored some very well-taken goals. On the scoresheet for the Blacks were Thomas Dent, Aaron Rymill and man of the match Mike Carragher. The goalkeeping duty was shared between Harry Lofthouse and Dan Mortimer with both boys making some fine saves. Jake Verinder also had a very impressive match.

FJSC under 9’s played Remyca in a great game of football. Archie Ogden and Dominic Maxwell scored two wonderful goals. Man of the match was goalkeeper Will Brown.

FJSC Under 8’s played in the Craven Minor League Under 8 Tournament at Edge Hill University. The team performed very well in all their games and as a result have progressed to the finals, which will be played next March. The all-important goals were scored by Owen Griffiths, Harry Nelson, Charlie Jameson and Thomas Szabo.
