A new Memorial Clock on the Formby Village roundabout
Parish Council's around the country are being encouraged to mark the 100 years since the 1918 Armistice.
Following the redesign and improvements to the Chapel Lane roundabout, paid for by the Formby Parish Council, Cllr Bob McCann has suggested that a village clock should be installed on the traffic island.
The new four-faced 'Pillar Clock' would not only be visible from the Memorial Garden, but also from the main shopping parades in the village centre. As well as being a useful addition to our village, the clock, itself a symbol of the passage of time, would be suitably engraved and would be very significant during the annual Remembrance Day Service, attendance at which is increasing year on year.
The suggestion was met favourably by the General Projects Group on the Council and the Parish Council would like to know what you think about the idea and how the community and other partners might raise funds for the project.
